New sustainability commitments: using Renner is all about responsible fashion!

Renner and sustainability are a well-known duo for those looking to buy products that care about the production chain, from raw materials to labor. And in the wake of bringing more sustainable actions, comes the new sustainability commitments until 2030. This means that many other more sustainable actions are coming!

After all, after reaching the goals established for the period from 2018 to 2021, the time has come to challenge ourselves to go further, so that you too can be an agent of responsible fashion.

In this post you learn about our new sustainability commitments. Come find out!

New Sustainability Commitments: Renner increasingly sustainable
Renner wants to promote changes in the fashion retail sector, making fashion more sustainable and responsible.
“This new stage reflects the intention of Lojas Renner S.A. to be an agent of change in the sector, working collaboratively with all links in the production chain in the search for transformative initiatives. This means developing processes, products and services that are increasingly sustainable from an environmental and social point of view”, comments the CEO of Lojas Renner, Fabio Facio.

For this to happen, Lojas Renner S.A’s new sustainability commitments, from 2022 to 2030, work on 3 fronts:
• Climate, Circular, and Regenerative Solutions
• Connections that Amplify
• Human and Diverse Relations

But what are the actions of each of these fronts? That’s what you find out next!

1. Climate, Circular, and Regenerative Solutions
The focus here is to advance in the construction of a circular business (which aims to promote a more sustainable operation and offer conscious consumption options to our customer), regenerative and low-carbon. Among our challenges for 2030 are:
• Accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy by achieving science-based, climate-neutral reduction targets by 2050.
• Reduce the water consumption of the operation, eliminating the disposal of chemical products in the production of textiles and footwear.
• Incorporate principles of circularity in the development of products, services and business models.
• Invest in the development of circular and regenerative textile raw materials.
• Eliminate plastic packaging from physical stores and e-commerce that cannot be reused or recycled.

2. Connections that Amplify
We want to create connections with even greater positive impact, whether with suppliers or partners, so that we can:
• Ensuring that our supply chain is up to date with socio-environmental criteria.
• Encouraging our suppliers to adopt the living wage, that is, to pay a salary that enables their workers to have a dignified life.
• Have 100% traceability of cotton products and advance in the traceability of other textile raw materials.
• Monitor and promote the inclusion and socio-environmental development of retailers.

3. Human and Diverse Relations
This challenge has to do with ensuring that each person involved in the Lojas Renner ecosystem can reach their full potential. Therefore, we are looking for:
• To be a reference in Brazil in living wage (fair wages) and make great strides in promoting the well-being of employees.
• Build a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion of minority groups so that we have 50% of leadership positions held by black people and 55% of senior leadership positions held by women.
• Offer a portfolio of diverse and inclusive products and services.

If you are the type of person who likes to buy from brands that care about society and the environment in which they operate, know that Lojas Renner’s new sustainability commitments will continue to fill you with pride!
