Lojas Renner S.A. launches guides on circularity and climate risks in the fashion industry
Lojas Renner S.A., reaffirming its commitment to more sustainable fashion, launched two innovative guides for the fashion industry in 2024: the Climate Risk Guide and the Circular Fashion Guide. These tools are designed to strengthen both awareness and training for its suppliers, internal teams, and the fashion industry as a whole, enabling a more resilient production chain that is committed to sustainability.

The Climate Risk Guide
Developed in partnership with the consultancy Way Carbon, the Climate Risk Guide is an essential tool for Renner’s suppliers. The guide provides information on climate risks affecting the textile sector, such as floods, droughts, heatwaves, and other threats that can directly impact operations and the supply chain, leading to financial losses, infrastructure damage, and production disruptions.
To avoid these consequences, the guide offers a strategic approach on how suppliers can prepare for and adapt to climate change. The focus is on promoting more sustainable practices that help minimize risks and ensure the continuity of operations.
The Circular Fashion Guide
Another milestone in Lojas Renner S.A.’s sustainability journey is the launch of the Circular Fashion Guide. Created in partnership with Cora Design, it is the first of its kind in the Brazilian fashion industry. Aimed primarily at product design teams, the guide provides guidelines on how to apply circularity concepts when creating garments, promoting waste-free and more sustainable fashion. This commitment is part of the company’s goal to incorporate circular economy practices by 2030.
The guide emphasizes the concept of the circular economy, which aims to avoid the one-time use of resources by focusing on recycling, reusing, and renewing materials so they can return to the production cycle, thereby reducing waste and environmental impact. It details methods for increasing product durability, using more sustainable materials, and implementing design practices that facilitate reuse, recycling, and even biodegradation of products at the end of their life cycle.
